Distilling 15 years of insights running the world’s leading luxury destination wedding and event platform, we have seen thousands of weddings, curated the very best artists, spoken directly to thousands of brides and deeply understand the nuances of a beautiful wedding day.

Led by The Lane’s Founder and Creative Director Karissa Dalton, we take on only 3 weddings per year, to invest the time and energy each bespoke celebration requires.

We make sure that in decades to come, your wedding holds the same resonance. Everything we do is bespoke and authentic to each individual. Our unique process helps uncover exactly what that looks like for you. Every decision we make leads to a wedding that spills with inimitable beauty.

From the most iconic private villas, hidden gems never intended as wedding venues, to dramatic productions in historic castles, the marble quarries of Carrara and Menorca, Sahara Desert, Iceland, Kyoto, or the salt flats of South Australia — we’ve created magical moments in some of the most beautiful pockets of the world.

Wedding & Event Inclusions

Booking The Lane includes full service planning, design, styling & coordination. We take care of every detail from start to finish to make sure your event is meticulously planned, visually cohesive and executed at the highest level, working with a network of the world’s most talented creatives to bring every detail to life. Our services include:

  • Your wedding personally planned and styled by The Lane’s Founder and Creative Director.

  • Access to The Lane’s production and editorial team to dream up and execute your event at our highest standard.

  • Access to The Lane’s curated network of the most talented artists inside, and outside of the wedding world.

  • Creative Strategy development — a process completely unique to The Lane that we use for all of our productions.

  • Detailed Creative Brief document, outlining all planning and design elements.

  • Venue layout and floor plan for day-of.

  • A custom built wedding website & email.

  • Custom planning platform developed to outline and track all planning progress

  • Unlimited meetings and consultations as required

  • Unlimited email correspondence

  • Development of pre-wedding timeline and checklist

  • Development and implementation of wedding budget

  • Vendor selection, negotiations and bookings

  • Communication and coordination with all vendors from start to finish

  • Development of run sheet/timeline for weekend of wedding

The Lane Process

  • Once your booking and date is secured, our team will connect with you to embark on your planning journey. We guide you through our unique process, map out a production, design and coordination timeline, ongoing work in progress meetings, and make sure you know what to expect at every point.

  • Before any plans commence, our Creative Director dives deeply into your vision, gets to know you and your personal style and develops a creative strategy for your event that informs any logistical or creative decision.

  • Once your creative strategy is confirmed, we commence production, researching and planning major logistics, including sourcing and booking your venue/s , key creatives and suppliers.

    As our process is heavily design-led, we will move between production and design organically to achieve the most elevated articulation of your creative strategy.

  • The Lane’s Creative Director and Art Director will dream up a bespoke design for your event that spills with inimitable beauty. We will create a design mood board and intricately detailed creative brief to inform every element and creative decision made for your celebration.

    We plan and source every element of your styling - from hired pieces, having custom items created and scouring for hours on end to track down special items.

  • Our team of stylists will bring your wedding design to life, making sure every planned element is executed with meticulous attention to detail. We coordinate packing, shipping, set up and installation, dismantle and returns. We take care of the creative chaos (and the non-glamorous parts) so all you see is the magic.

  • Lastly, The Lane will be there to coordinate every moment of your pre-wedding, wedding & post- wedding events. We’re there to make sure the logistics are invisible to you & your guests and that your creative strategy is impactfully felt in every way possible.

Investment

  • Every wedding we take on is unique and requires a bespoke approach. Our percentage-based fee reflects this.

    This allows an unrestricted amount of time for us to create the event experience you envision. It also provides the greatest transparency and flexibility. We are meticulous about working within your budget, and will help you make the best choices to invest your budget in ways that will create the greatest impact.

    The Lane’s fee 18% of the overall wedding budget and includes full service production, design, coordination and styling. This is a portion of your determined budget, not in addition to your budget.

    The fee includes flights for The Lane Creative Director and Lead Planner for your event day.

    For venue buyouts, our fee is based on the event space only — not accommodation (unless we're coordinating guest travel).

  • For weddings under $200K budgets (intimate weddings and elopements) a minimum fee of $40K will be applied instead.

    Rates are in USD.

  • Included in our fee is The Lane Creative Director and lead Planner’s time on site, and flights.

    All other travel fees and staffing for destination weddings are based on the location and scope of your event. Rates for this will be determined once details are more established.

Exclusivity

To ensure our team can execute your event at our highest standards, we require that The Lane are the only exclusive wedding planners, designers, coordinators and stylists working on your event.

We are passionate about making sure your event beautifully embodies the bespoke creative strategy and brief developed for you, based on your vision and requirements, so we do require final approval on all vendors enlisted and styling decisions made.

Payment Structure

The Lane will process all payments on your behalf, with the following fee structure:

  • A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking. This ensures your date is booked and other work that would impact our ability to plan your event during this time is declined.

    The deposit amount is based on your budget estimate determined after our discovery call / consultation. Any changes to your budget once then finalized will be reflected in the second instalment and balance amounts below.

  • A 35% second instalment is required up to 6 months prior to the event date (note - this may change based on wedding timeline)

  • The final 35% balance is required no later than 14 days prior to the event date.

Vendor Contracts

We will send through all vendor contracts for you to sign.

For design-based vendors (florist, décor, styling), The Lane acts as the client on your behalf — ensuring seamless creative direction and communication. All other vendor contracts are sent to you directly for signature.

The Lane sources from and liaises with a myriad of industry creatives and vendors from around the world to bring your vision to life, so this process ensures we can take care of the associated administration for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We specialize in international events, having worked on productions in some of the most unique pockets of the world (from European castles and châteaus, glaciers in Iceland, marble quarries in Italy, crystalline salt flats in Australia, to the Sahara Desert of Morocco). We live and breathe travel.

    We have established contacts in many areas of the world (and will stop at nothing to track down the very best in any location - which we have done daily for 15 years). We love both the challenge of a unique location or creating a transportive experience for guests close to your home.

  • As always, the more time the better. The Lane only takes on approx. 5 weddings per year so our availability is limited and longer lead times mean we can secure the highest quality venues and vendors for your budget.

    Depending on the scope, we recommend a minimum of 12 months notice to commence planning However we can be flexible, and we are well-versed in executing all kinds of productions in various timeframes.

  • No. There’s nothing we dislike more than any form of ‘package’ wedding. Every event we create is wildly unique because it’s tailored to you, so our approach is completely bespoke. We work with creatives, vendors and suppliers who are most suited to your particular brief and budget only, and no, we never earn commissions separately from vendors that influence our decision to put them forward for your event.

  • When we take on your wedding, we project manage, coordinate and work closely with every vendor regardless of whether they have already been booked, to bring your event to life.

    The process requires an enormous amount of production and communication with the entire team. Our percentage-based fee is based on the entire budget, regardless of whether any bookings have been made prior to us being contracted.

  • Travel includes a pre-wedding site inspection/s as required, and your wedding day.

    The Lane will book all required travel and accommodation bookings for our team and any contractors.

    Your personal travel, and guest travel and accommodation is normally excluded from our scope of services, unless required.

  • We love when couples have a clear vision in mind to help us understand exactly what you dream of for your wedding or event (and we equally love the process of determining that, if you don’t!). 

    Our process from there is extremely intricate and we will dive deep into the creative strategy for your event based on everything we can draw from our communications. 

    We invest an unfathomable amount of hours into the creative process to develop your creative brief from this starting point- both sourcing and pricing as we go, so yes we do create a bespoke brief for your event, guided by your vision.
